If you’re looking for a vehicle that combines the utility of an SUV with the driving dynamics of a sports car, there’s really only one choice: the 2019 Porsche Macan. When you visit the car dealer, Porsche of Bakersfield and test drive the Macan, you’ll see the Macan doesn’t ask buyers to make any tradeoffs in handling to get the benefits an SUV offers.
The 2019 Macan has powerful engine choices that deliver the performance you’d expect from a Porsche. While the Macan’s seven-speed transmission, all-wheel-drive system and suspension combine to allow you to carve curves with ease, the Macan is also capable on off-road trails.
Inside, you’ll find a luxurious cabin, while outside the Macan has plenty of curb appeal without any flash. This compact crossover is truly the sportiest in its segment.

It's also hard to believe that there are two additional trim levels positioned above the S in the Macan lineup, as the raucous acceleration and athletic handling of the S are seemingly just about all that anyone could ask for.”
For 2019, the Porsche Macan gets a refresh that includes a new front fascia with vents on both sides of the grille that give it a bolder stance. The rear fascia is new, and the taillights get Porsche’s now-iconic full-width taillight graphic. Twenty-one-inch wheels are now offered for the first time. Buyers will enjoy the four new exterior paint colors, including Chalk and Miami Blue.
LED headlights are now standard on the Macan and Macan S. A new 10.9-inch high-definition touchscreen sits in the center of the dash. This new display serves as the interface for the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, which debuted in the Porsche Panamera. The attractive graphics load quickly, and drivers can modify the layout of the display to suit their preferences. PCM includes voice control to make interacting with the system easier. Drivers can even get data on road conditions obtained from other vehicles equipped with similar systems.
Also new for 2019, the Macan gets an available GT Sport steering wheel taken from the Porsche 911. This Alcantara leather-wrapped steering wheel has three spokes and is smaller than the wheel that comes standard. Buyers who choose the optional Sport Chrono Package get this steering wheel with a mode selector dial.
Powering the 2019 Porsche Macan is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The Macan S employs a new 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged V6 producing 348 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. Both powerplants are connected to Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch seven-speed automatic gearbox. This transmission gets an update this year, with easier upshifting when in Normal mode, faster gear changes in Sport mode, and a coasting mode that operates when the adaptive cruise control is in use to help save fuel. Start-stop technology kicks in when the Macan comes to a stop. Note that this feature is disabled in Sport and SportPlus modes.
